Snap Inc. introduced its new SPECS AR glasses alongside an anticipatory artificial intelligence service and enterprise partnerships. The wearable computer integrates hardware directly into the frame without requiring a tether or external processing unit, allowing users to interact through hand gestures and voice controls.
Hardware Design of SPECS AR Glasses
The device features transparent lenses that place digital objects directly into three-dimensional space. Users can view a virtual display equivalent to a 115-inch screen for streaming services such as YouTube and HBO Max. In addition, an external light-emitting diode illuminates whenever audio or video recording takes place to inform surrounding individuals.
Cross-Platform AI Integration
Alongside the hardware, Snap unveiled SPECS Intelligence as an anticipatory service powered by artificial intelligence. The software connects across iPhone, Mac, and wearable devices to surface relevant context without waiting for active user prompts. An iOS preview is available for users aged 18 and older in the United States, while Mac access remains waitlist-only.
