The new Meta Muse Charm is a palm-sized interactive device built specifically around the company’s personal assistant. Meta unveiled the hardware during its annual Connect event, expanding its consumer hardware portfolio beyond traditional smart eyewear. The gadget features an interactive digital character named Jolly that responds to voice commands and tactile inputs.

According to a report by 9to5Mac, the device was created by the company’s design lab in collaboration with its Superintelligence AI unit. The project development was led by former Apple interface design head Alan Dye. Furthermore, the Muse assistant application reached the top ranking on both the Apple App Store and Google Play earlier this month.

Hardware specifications of Meta Muse Charm

The compact device includes a two-inch OLED touchscreen display that showcases a customizable avatar interface. Users can change character outfits, vocal tones, and visual features to interact directly with the Meta Muse Charm using touch and voice. In addition, the hardware integrates a dedicated fingerprint sensor on the corner to start immediate conversations without unlocking a phone.

The build incorporates front and rear cameras, integrated speakers, dual microphones, 5G connectivity, and a USB-C port. Meta clarified that the optical cameras primarily provide visual context for machine analysis rather than capturing standard personal media. In addition, two devices placed close together can detect each other and interact autonomously.

New additions to the smart glasses family

Alongside the handheld assistant, Meta announced the Ray-Ban Meta Audio smart glasses starting at $349, scheduled for release on October 13. This model removes integrated cameras entirely to address user privacy concerns while maintaining open-ear audio, calls, and translation features. Meanwhile, the upgraded Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 glasses retail at $449 with nine hours of battery life and a dedicated action button.

The company also introduced the Meta VR Glasses headset, weighing roughly 100 grams and featuring micro-OLED 5K panels. The wearable is scheduled for a spring 2027 release at $1,299.99 with IMAX Enhanced certification for spatial streaming and immersive gaming experiences.

Software integration and companion ecosystem

Users configure and manage the totem through the companion application available on iOS and Android smartphones. Consequently, the system acts as a dedicated alternative for consumers who prefer voice assistants without wearing connected eyewear throughout the day. Setup requires pairing through the mobile application before activating standalone cellular functions.

Market availability and release timeline

Shipments for the Meta Muse Charm are scheduled to begin in December ahead of the holiday shopping period. While official pricing details remain unannounced, industry reports indicate retail costs comparable to contemporary smartwatches. Meta Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg confirmed component layouts are entering final production stages.
