In addition to this, the white paper covers key discussion points regarding the network transformation requirements for emerging 5G Business-to-Consumer (B2C) and Business-to-Business (B2B) industry verticals.

This builds on du’s partnership with Huawei to evolve the network to the state-of-the-art agile core and dynamic network slicing architecture in order to meet the need for differentiated industry services. This is enabling du to introduce new services and shorten time to market for these new services as the telco’s 5G network capabilities and transformative product portfolio evolves.

‘Innovating Emergent Industry Services’
Saleem AlBlooshi, Chief Technology Officer of EITC, said: “A new era of dynamic industry verticals is emerging that requires differentiated services with guaranteed SLAs in order to bring new business opportunities to life and drive a radical shift for the B2C and B2B domains. With the modernization and transformation of our Cloud-based 5G deterministic Network, our approach to new market challenges and opportunities will be more agile, distributed, and service oriented. The evolution of our intelligent and automated network means we will be able to meet industry requirements and transform the digitalization of the entire network to become a Network-as-a-Service (NaaS).”

Lishi, Chief Executive Officer of Huawei Technologies (United Arab Emirates), said: “As the new digital era brings with it a wide variety of new verticals, Huawei is proud to be the technology partner of choice for du as the UAE-based telco looks to widen its expertise and capabilities to capture the innovative and diverse business requirements of tomorrow. We are confident this strategic partnership will enhance du’s network to the cloudified and distributed 5G service based flexible architecture in order to address emerging on-demand and business needs.”

‘5G Core Gains Momentum’

5G technology and architecture progression is opening new capabilities in order to achieve network efficiencies and new service innovations that are not possible with conventional networks. As a foremost leader in 5G, du is currently paving the way forward to achieve 5G deterministic network evolution in the UAE.

The 5G core is the brain of du’s network and is being designed to bring access to agnostic service convergence towards 5G core so that the management and operation of the network becomes more simplified. The micro service-based architecture will help in service isolation and accelerating the Network slice through flexible orchestration.

The 5G dynamic and intelligent Network Slicing, with the combination of edge computing, will ensure the deterministic and guaranteed SLA of industry requirements for enhanced broadband services, high reliability, latency sensitive services, and Internet of Things (IoT) verticals.
