The figure includes 58 publicly announced contracts and 56 live 5G networks, spanning five continents.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif; color: #242424;\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif; color: #242424;\">The milestone was reached with the announcement of the 5G deal with\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ericsson.com\/en\/press-releases\/2020\/8\/telekom-slovenije-and-ericsson-roll-out-first-5g-commercial-network-in-slovenia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif; color: #0069c2; text-decoration: none;\">Telekom Slovenije on \u00a0August 12<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif; color: #242424;\">. Ericsson has worked with major service provider partners since the early days of 5G R&amp;D development. The company\u2019s first public 5G partnership announcement came in 2014.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif; color: #242424;\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif; color: #242424;\">Initial technology engagements and memorandum of understanding (MoU) partnerships were followed by\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ericsson.com\/en\/networks\/offerings\/5g\/5g-partnerships\/5g-interoperability-milestone\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif; color: #0069c2; text-decoration: none;\">5G New Radio (NR) technology testing and trials<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif; color: #242424;\">. Commercial deals and network roll-out announcements followed. The first live commercial launches were announced in 2018.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif; color: #242424;\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif; color: #242424;\">Ericsson\u2019s contracts span Radio Access Network (RAN) and Core network deployments, enabled by products and solutions from the\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ericsson.com\/en\/networks\/offerings\/5g\/5g-radio\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif; color: #0069c2; text-decoration: none;\">Ericsson Radio System<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif; color: #242424;\">\u00a0and Ericsson Cloud Core network portfolios.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif; color: #242424;\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif; color: #242424;\">Ericsson 5G deployments include 5G Non-Standalone, 5G Standalone and\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ericsson.com\/en\/networks\/offerings\/5g\/sharing-spectrum-with-ericsson-spectrum-sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif; color: #0069c2; text-decoration: none;\">Ericsson Spectrum Sharing<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif; color: #242424;\">\u00a0technology.
