The World Economic Forum\u2019s Global Action Group, comprised of senior members of government, business, civil society, and the expert community, developed the principles.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>B\u00f8rge Brende<\/strong>, President of the World Economic Forum, convened the Global Action Group in virtual meetings beginning in June 2020.<strong>Fran\u00e7ois-Philippe Champagne,&nbsp;<\/strong>Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry of Canada;&nbsp;<strong>Sigrid Kaag,&nbsp;<\/strong>Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Netherlands;&nbsp;<strong>Tar\u014d K\u014dno<\/strong>, Minister in charge of Administrative Reform of Japan;&nbsp;<strong>Tito Mboweni,&nbsp;<\/strong>Minister of Finance of South Africa;&nbsp;<strong>Dina Powell McCormick<\/strong>, Global Head, Sustainability and Inclusive Growth, Goldman Sachs; and&nbsp;<strong>Kent Walker,&nbsp;<\/strong>Senior Vice-President, Global Affairs, Google,<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>co-chaired the group.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The seven principles call for prioritizing peace and security, equity, gender equality and sustainability because each of these is advanced by and is needed to advance global cooperation. Their absence can cause deep fractures as highlighted by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.weforum.org\/reports\/the-global-risks-report-2021\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Global Risks Report 2021<\/a>\u00a0released earlier this week by the Forum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The seven\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.weforum.org\/reports\/principles-for-strengthening-global-cooperation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Principles for Strengthening Global Cooperation<\/strong><\/a><strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\"><li>Strengthen global cooperation<\/li><li>Advance peace and security<\/li><li>Re-globalize equitably<\/li><li>Promote gender equality<\/li><li>Rebuild sustainably<\/li><li>Deepen public-private partnerships<\/li><li>Increase global resilience<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHaving leaders articulate the importance of working with one another \u2013 at a moment that so clearly calls for greater unity but lacks it \u2013 can serve as a vital step in rechannelling momentum in the right direction,\u201d said&nbsp;<strong>B\u00f8rge<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>Brende<\/strong>, President of the World Economic Forum. \u201cThe direction we need to head is toward greater dialogue, coordination and collective action.
