{"id":21406,"date":"2021-03-10T14:32:00","date_gmt":"2021-03-10T11:32:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saudishopper.com.sa\/en\/?p=21406"},"modified":"2026-03-27T20:42:30","modified_gmt":"2026-03-27T17:42:30","slug":"worlds-first-ever-electric-race-eskootr-breaks-cover","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/saudishopper.com.sa\/en\/worlds-first-ever-electric-race-eskootr-breaks-cover\/","title":{"rendered":"World\u2019s first-ever electric race eSkootr breaks cover"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Carbon-fibre S1-X capable of 100km\/h top speeds<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Ready for eSkootr Championship&nbsp;first season in 2021<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Wurz: \u201cWe set aggressive design, performance and handling targets\u201d<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link\" href=\"https:\/\/saudishopper.com.sa\/ar\/?p=37756\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u0639\u0631\u0628\u064a<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>London \u2013 UK, 1\/3\/2021<\/strong>:The eSkootr Championship\u00a0(eSC) has officially unveiled the electric eSkootr that will contest the series\u2019 first races in 2021.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The cutting-edge eSkootr S1-X model has been developed and designed by engineers with leading motorsport experience, and track-tested by some of the world\u2019s top two-wheel development riders.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Racecar design &amp; technology<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With a prototype initially developed by Williams Advanced Engineering, the S1-X features racecar design and manufacturing techniques \u2013 including a carbon-fibre chassis frame,&nbsp;environmentally friendly&nbsp;natural-fibre bodywork and&nbsp;bespoke, adjustable front and rear suspension elements CNC-machined from aluminium.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is the fastest and strongest electric scooter ever built.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Capable of achieving race speeds in excess of 100km\/h (60mph) and cornering angles of 50 degrees, on specially designed circuits between 400 and 1000m long, it is an example of how racing technology can transform an everyday vehicle \u2013 and develop and accelerate pioneering future technologies for the road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Battery &amp; boost<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The S1-X is powered by a Lithium Ion battery which charges two 6kW motors, one housed in each wheel. As in a regular road-going electric scooter, the rider controls power delivery via a conventional thumb-operated throttle. However, a torque delivery system balances power between front and rear wheels to enhance high-speed stability \u2013 and can be overridden by the rider via a boost button for an instant burst of acceleration during races.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The eSkootr has a 1.5kWh range to contest eSC\u2019s short but action-packed heats and finals, a maximum weight of 35kg, and can produce 16hp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sportsmediastrategies.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/eSC_eSkootr_Render_4.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Preparation for 2021 races<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The eSkootr Championship\u00a0has been designed to accelerate micromobility culture and technology in forward-thinking global cities. It will host its first races this autumn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Focus now turns to a full build programme in order to supply eSC\u2019s teams with hardware ahead of a pre-season rider selection test \u2013 to be held in early summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe\u2019ve been developing a series of prototype race eSkootrs for the past year, so it\u2019s a great feeling to finally reveal the S1-X. What\u2019s been most rewarding is just how many different elements have successfully come together to make it all happen \u2013 we\u2019ve been pioneering new technology across every step of the process. We already know the S1-X is an extremely fast and fun machine \u2013 now we want to get as many racers as possible to try it as we push towards our first race.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Hrag Sarkissian, eSkootr Championship&nbsp;CEO<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe set ourselves some very aggressive development goals for the S1-X \u2013 and we\u2019ve already hit all of our stage-one targets ahead of the first season. But this model just marks a frozen moment in the ongoing development of our race eSkootr \u2013 we know that summer\u2019s extended track running will give us a significant amount of extra data as we push development. We\u2019ve already targeted new steps for motor performance and efficiency, as well as changes to the bodywork and aerodynamics.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Khalil Beschir, eSkootr Championship&nbsp;COO<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cMicromobility sport is a step in a new direction for motorsport \u2013 and I definitely think we\u2019ve achieved so much with the design of our first eSkootr. The aim now is to bring this to people: to teams and entrants, to athletes and riders, to fans and families in cities around the world. We\u2019ve only really started to get going, but have already set some pretty aggressive design, performance and handling parameters for the S1-X. We\u2019ve looked really closely at front-fork stiffness, rear-wheel compliance, kinematics, packaging of the technology and drivetrain design.
