{"id":21431,"date":"2021-03-10T17:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-03-10T14:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saudishopper.com.sa\/en\/?p=21431"},"modified":"2026-03-27T21:52:31","modified_gmt":"2026-03-27T18:52:31","slug":"nearly-half-of-companies-in-the-meta-region-prohibit-sharing-threat-intelligence-findings-with-professional-communities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/saudishopper.com.sa\/en\/nearly-half-of-companies-in-the-meta-region-prohibit-sharing-threat-intelligence-findings-with-professional-communities\/","title":{"rendered":"Nearly half of companies in the META region prohibit sharing threat intelligence findings with professional communities"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link\" href=\"https:\/\/saudishopper.com.sa\/ar\/?p=37801\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u0639\u0631\u0628\u064a<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Two-thirds (69%) of\u00a0threat intelligence (TI) analysts in the META region are involved in professional communities, but (44%) % of all those working in IT and cybersecurity roles are not allowed to share threat intelligence artifacts discovered through those communities, finds a new Kaspersky report, \u2018Managing your IT security team.\u2019\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kaspersky is a long-time advocate for international collaboration in cyberspace and contributes to<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kaspersky.com\/about\/policy-blog\/general-cybersecurity\/supporting-paris-call\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u00a0joint initiatives across the global IT security co<\/a>mmunity. The company sees this approach as\u00a0the best way to protect from ever-evolving cyber threats. As such, Kaspersky surveyed more than 5,200 IT and cybersecurity practitioners globally for this report to see if other businesses were ready to collaborate and share TI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The research found that respondents with TI analysis responsibilities, in particular, are likely to participate in specialized forums and blogs (48%), dark web forums (32%), or social media groups (28%).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But when it comes to sharing their own findings,&nbsp;only (49%) of respondents have actually made their discoveries public.&nbsp;Conversely, in companies where external sharing is allowed, (81%) of security analysts did so. In 8% of cases, security analysts even shared TI findings despite it being prohibited by the organization they work at.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"blob:https:\/\/saudishopper.com.sa\/en\/aba98f6d-d9c9-4221-adc6-e14f491ff78b\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kaspersky experts noted that such restrictions are partly driven by concerns that if some objects are known publicly before a company can respond to an attack, then cyber criminals may realize that they have been detected and change their tactics. To help IT security teams analyze suspicious objects without the risk of exposing the investigation, Kaspersky provides a private submission mode option through free access to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/opentip.kaspersky.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Kaspersky Threat Intelligence Portal<\/a>. Thanks to this, a cybercriminal will not know that someone has shared samples, and an analyst can still receive the required data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAny piece of information \u2013 be it new malware or insights on techniques used \u2013 is valuable when protecting against advanced threats.
