{"id":23463,"date":"2021-04-12T15:47:00","date_gmt":"2021-04-12T12:47:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saudishopper.com.sa\/en\/?p=23463"},"modified":"2026-03-27T22:07:57","modified_gmt":"2026-03-27T19:07:57","slug":"mena-employees-happiest-when-able-to-work-from-anywhere-avaya-study-finds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/saudishopper.com.sa\/en\/mena-employees-happiest-when-able-to-work-from-anywhere-avaya-study-finds\/","title":{"rendered":"MENA Employees Happiest When Able To Work From Anywhere, Avaya Study Finds"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Life and Work Beyond 2020<em>&nbsp;study commissioned by Avaya finds that 64% of MENA workers consider the ability to work remotely as a driver of happiness.<\/em><strong><em><\/em><\/strong><\/li><li><em>61% of MENA workers would support government policies aimed at the widespread adoption of \u2018hybrid\u2019 working practices.&nbsp;<\/em><strong><em><\/em><\/strong><\/li><li><em>50% say that their biggest worry about the future is returning to work in the office full-time.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/em><strong><em><\/em><\/strong><\/li><li>Life and Work Beyond 2020<em>&nbsp;research based on interviews with 10,000 consumers and workers in 11 countries.&nbsp;<\/em><strong><em><\/em><\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Riyadh, Saudi Arabia<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;&#8211; 12 April 2021 \u2013&nbsp;<\/strong>Fifty-eight percent of workers in the Middle East and North Africa region have felt happier over the past year as a result of working from home, according to a new study commissioned by Avaya (NYSE: AVYA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The&nbsp;<em>Life and Work Beyond 2020<\/em>&nbsp;study, conducted by research firm Davies Hickman Partners, polled 10,000 consumers and workers in 11 countries to discover the impacts of COVID-19 on consumer wellbeing and values as the world embraces a new world of work.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The research found that workers in the MENA region are fond of work-from-anywhere models, with 64% saying that the ability to conduct hybrid work \u2013 from a home or office \u2013 would contribute to their happiness. That compares to 40% of respondents in Germany, 44% in the UK, and 62% in the United States who said the same thing.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The survey also revealed that MENA workers are well-equipped for remote working, with 59% claiming that they have access to the technology necessary to work from anywhere. The UAE, with 64% reporting strong access to technology, has the higher number of positive respondents than seen in any other country. United States workers are second-best equipped with 62% having access to the technology they need to work from anywhere, and Saudi Arabia came in at 60%, while in the UK that number was 55%.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As well as a preference for the ability to work from anywhere, the study revealed some of the biggest worries that MENA employees have about the future of work. Half of them (50%) said that returning to the office full-time would be their biggest worry, while 43% identified being replaced by younger workers as their top concern.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOur&nbsp;<em>Life and Work Beyond 2020<\/em>&nbsp;was an effort to identify and quantify the large-scale, impactful changes we have seen over the last year. The findings of the report are consistent with what we have seen among our regional customers, who have moved quickly to create enhanced experiences for employees and consumers in the face of new realities. What\u2019s clear is that preferences for hybrid working models are here to stay, meaning Total Experience strategies need to be designed with this new reality in mind\u201d, said Nidal Abou-Ltaif, President \u2013 International, Avaya.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Technology, working space key to productivity<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While MENA respondents ranked among the world\u2019s happiest and best equipped when it came to working from anywhere, the survey still revealed areas for improvement. Nearly a third (32%) said that they had experienced challenges as a result of the remote working model, while 30% said that they do not have access to the technology they need to work remotely.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What\u2019s more, many employees struggle with their working environments at home, with 52% expressing a desire for a larger working space, and 36% saying that working from home was not appropriate for family life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Happiness drives workplace productivity<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite a majority of MENA employees willing to embrace a new, hybrid world of work, concerns about a return to the office remain.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Almost a third (30%) said they do not believe that their employers trust them to work from anywhere, and 41% said that they do not believe their employer puts an emphasis on their wellbeing. What\u2019s more, 39% worry about meeting people face-to-face once they are back in a working environment.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The study revealed that there is a strong motivation to address employee concerns like these: Almost half (44%) said they are happy at work, with 51% saying that their productivity improves when they are happy.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
