Bentley Systems, Incorporated, a leading global provider of comprehensive software solutions for advancing infrastructure, today announced its Autodesk License Upgrade Program. For consideration by owners of Autodesk perpetual licenses facing Autodesk’s imminent deadline for the write-off of the future value of their investment, Bentley Systems is offering recovery of the value otherwise subject to forfeit.
Bentley Systems will credit the net value of Autodesk licenses towards upgraded “evergreen” perpetual licenses of Bentley’s applications. These perpetual licenses never depreciate, as (for instance) Bentley’s SELECT’s annual “portfolio balancing” permits exchanges among Bentley’s comprehensive application portfolio.
Bhupinder Singh, Bentley’s Chief Product Officer, said, “Bentley Systems considers purchases of perpetual licenses to be long-term investments by our users, so we continually innovate to increase their value. We are glad to now extend this ‘future-proofing’ to Autodesk license owners who otherwise will lose value in their applications. And we will continue to offer users the choice to purchase licenses or subscriptions to fit their commercial preferences.
Especially with the new CONNECT Edition generation of our applications, which leverage intrinsic cloud services, I’m convinced that former Autodesk users will considerably prefer the many BIM advancements of our comprehensive modeling environment.”
Roy Kim, Principal of PacRim Engineering, said, “Bentley’s new Autodesk License Upgrade Program was a fitting solution for our organization — a small business which is experiencing growth. With Bentley’s CONNECT Edition applications, our users came up to speed quickly and are already realizing impressive productivity gains.”
John Cruikshank, President & CEO, JMC2 Civil Engineering + Surveying, said, “Autodesk continually sets deadlines forcing us to give up our perpetual license for an annual subscription. Their actions have made sticking with the great Bentley products that much easier. With design software being the lifeblood of our civil engineering and surveying operations, it has always been our objective to keep our applications up to date and to maximize our investment. Bentley’s new Autodesk License Upgrade Program is the perfect solution for us. And with Bentley’s CONNECT Edition applications, our staff can get up to speed fast, giving us unheard-of growth in productivity.”
Jenn Goodwin, Business Manager with Bennett Engineering, said, “Bentley’s new Autodesk License Upgrade Program was the perfect solution for our company during this growth period. With Bentley’s CONNECT Edition applications, users are up and running quickly and easily.”
