{"id":37384,"date":"2022-10-23T13:35:18","date_gmt":"2022-10-23T10:35:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saudishopper.com.sa\/en\/?p=37384"},"modified":"2026-03-28T02:00:52","modified_gmt":"2026-03-27T23:00:52","slug":"stc-reveals-a-whitepaper-in-collaboration-with-gcc-open-ran-consortium","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/saudishopper.com.sa\/en\/stc-reveals-a-whitepaper-in-collaboration-with-gcc-open-ran-consortium\/","title":{"rendered":"stc reveals a Whitepaper in collaboration with GCC Open RAN Consortium"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Riyadh, 23<sup>rd<\/sup>&nbsp;Oct 2022<\/strong>:&nbsp;&nbsp;To further enhance its collaboration with other regional operators and building on its earlier announcement to establish a joint GCC Consortium&nbsp;in a step to accelerate the early adoption of Open Radio Access Network (Open RAN) solutions in their brownfield networks with a robust regional ICT ecosystem, the Consortium launched a regional community open lab that provides shared facilities and access to members and vendors for Open RAN solution trials and validations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To establish the right mechanism and understanding of Open RAN, today the consortium announces the publication of&nbsp;a whitepaper titled \u201cOpen RAN for Brownfield Operators Challenges and Opportunities\u201d.&nbsp;The white paper sets out the challenges of deploying Open RAN in brownfield networks, such as interoperability, operational complexity, cyber security, performance, and TCO issues. As well, addressing the potential opportunities, mainly 5G prospects, disaggregation, the path to 6G, and Automation. Furthermore, the white paper discusses the summary of recent Live trials and the community Open Lab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">stc Group&nbsp;will continue to work with Open RAN consortium members and other stakeholders aligning on Open RAN trials, technology strategy, and leveraging on international partners\u2019 experience for the early adoption of Open RAN.
