Despite reservations, the majority of organisations in Middle East and North Africa region think that technology is key in keeping their documents secure. 79% of MENA organisations agree that technology creates a more secure office, and more than half – 56% of organisations have expressed concerns about losing sensitive documents that they print out. Increased document security is also seen as valuable to overall security by 29% of organisations.<\/p>\n
The findings are a part of Canon\u2019s Office Insights 2016 report which aims to highlight the impact of document handling technology in high-growth markets across Central and Eastern Europe, Eurasia, the Middle East and Africa. The in-depth analysis of 1,000 business decision-makers and end-users in 10 key countries revealed a trend towards digitisation, and a rapidly evolving technological landscape.<\/p>\n
The report also states that processing documents in the cloud is attractive to businesses; but fears around document access and security may have impacted cloud deployment. Security concerns are holding back the deployment of cloud and Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) solutions. <\/p>\n
“It’s clear that businesses across regional markets are being empowered by innovative technology, and are welcoming futuristic ways of working to drive growth,\u201d says Hendrik Verbrugghe, Marketing Director, Canon Middle East and Canon Central and North Africa. \u201cHowever, it is not without its set of challenges and therefore it is crucial we address concerns and provide the right level of guidance for each unique market, to ensure businesses are making informed and beneficial technology investments. The insight the report has given us means we can better address the unique pain points of each region, and raise awareness to support the markets as they use the right technologies to improve office processes,\u201d added Verbrugghe. <\/p>\n
