{"id":49337,"date":"2024-05-14T10:47:57","date_gmt":"2024-05-14T07:47:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saudishopper.com.sa\/en\/?p=49337"},"modified":"2026-03-28T05:46:33","modified_gmt":"2026-03-28T02:46:33","slug":"formula-e-better-futures-fund-unveiled-to-support-charities-in-each-race-location","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/saudishopper.com.sa\/en\/formula-e-better-futures-fund-unveiled-to-support-charities-in-each-race-location\/","title":{"rendered":"FORMULA E BETTER FUTURES FUND\u00a0UNVEILED TO SUPPORT CHARITIES IN EACH RACE LOCATION"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Latest Fund builds on ABB FIA Formula E World Championship\u2019s world-leading sustainability credentials, benefitting both people and planet<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Each race market for remainder of Season 10 will benefit from $25,000 in charitable funding respectively, with further roll-out across all race markets in Season 11<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Fund plays a key role in Formula E\u2019s\u00a0<em>Formula Equity<\/em>\u00a0impact strategy, focusing on social inequalities and diverse communities\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>London, Dubai and Riyadh, 14 May 2024:&nbsp;<\/strong>Formula E has today unveiled its latest charitable support programme &#8211;&nbsp;<em>The Formula E Better Futures Fund<\/em>&nbsp;\u2013 to directly support charities and local causes in all cities where it races.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Fund has been created to build on the positive legacy Formula E leaves behind in host cities and maintain world-leading sustainability standards that the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship sets across the sporting and sustainability sectors, including being the world\u2019s first net zero carbon sport.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Focusing on initiatives delivering environmental and social impact aligned to Formula E\u2019s purpose and sustainability strategy, the Better Futures Fund is designed to leave significant tangible impact all year round, far beyond each scheduled race week. The Fund will also play a pivotal role in the series\u2019 social impact strategy \u2013&nbsp;<em>Formula Equity<\/em>&nbsp;\u2013 that tackles social inequalities and nurtures resilient and diverse communities where races take place.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">For Season 10, the Fund will focus on:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Supporting underrepresented communities in race locations, designed to tackle social inequality<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Environmental protection, prioritising nature and air quality in urban environments<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Community engagement and their transition to living more sustainable lifestyles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Across the remainder of Season 10, a fund of $100,000 will be split across the four race locations of Berlin, Shanghai, Portland and London, with local charities receiving up to $25,000 for their respective causes. In Season 11, the fund will support separate charities in all race locations around the world.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alongside the funding itself, Formula E is committing to working alongside each charity, providing awareness of its causes, engaging directly with the organisation and offering volunteer support. Organisations will feature as part of Formula E\u2019s wider sustainability strategy, including hosting representatives at track and introducing them to the wider Formula E ecosystem as part of the series\u2019 Inspiration Hour held every race week, to engage with local communities and educate them on environmental and social sustainability best practice.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Jeff Dodds, CEO of Formula E, said:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cFormula E leads the world in sustainability initiatives, yet as a competitive sport we always want to do more. The Formula E Better Futures Fund will give us total control in the supporting charities and communities in the markets we bring our sport aiming to leave a deeper, lasting and more targeted impact. This will enable us to have greater ownership and flexibility on helping those most in need and towards a more sustainable and equitable future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Julia Pall\u00e9, VP Sustainability at Formula E, said:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWith a mission to accelerate sustainable human progress through electric racing, our new Better Futures Fund elevates our on-going purpose to the next level. Directly aligned to our wider sustainability strategy and Formula Equity that focuses on social impact, we\u2019re taking a more direct approach to target specific causes and communities more closely aligned to our overall vision. This will enable us to have greater ownership and flexibility on helping those most in need and towards a more sustainable and equitable future.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>BERLIN&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Formula E will be supporting two charities in Berlin, including:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Arbeiterwohlfahrt (AWO) is one of the six recognised umbrella organisations in Germany for independent welfare, including the support of refugees.
