Personal Intelligence Gemini launched to users in the Arab world on April 15, 2026, expanding access to a feature that connects information from apps like Gmail and Google Photos directly within the Gemini app. The capability allows users to control which apps link to Gemini, with each connection enhancing the assistant’s ability to provide tailored responses.

Personal Intelligence operates on two core functions: reasoning across multiple data sources and retrieving specific details from emails, photos, or videos to answer user questions. The system combines these capabilities to work across text, images, and video content, crafting responses based on a user’s previous experiences and interests. Users can ask the assistant to suggest books, create travel itineraries, or perform other tasks that benefit from access to their personal data.

Privacy Controls at the Center

Google designed Personal Intelligence with privacy as a foundational principle. App connections remain disabled by default, giving users full control over which applications to link and the ability to disconnect at any time. When enabled, Gemini accesses data only to answer specific requests or complete tasks. Since the data already resides securely within Google’s infrastructure, users avoid sending sensitive information to external services.

The system includes transparency features that help users verify information sources. Gemini references or explains which connected apps provided the data used in its responses, allowing users to trace the origin of answers. This approach aims to balance personalization with data security and user control.

Rollout Timeline and Subscription Requirements

Personal Intelligence is now available to all users in the Arab world who subscribe to Google AI Plus, Pro, or Ultra plans. The company said it plans to bring the feature to free users in the coming weeks. Users must manually enable the feature by opening Gemini, accessing Settings, selecting Personal Intelligence, and choosing which apps to connect, such as Gmail and Photos.

The feature builds on artificial intelligence capabilities that Google introduced in the United States earlier in 2026. The expansion to the Arab region reflects the company’s strategy to make Gemini app functionality available across diverse markets. Users seeking enhanced data security and personalized assistance can now access these tools within their region.
