The findings suggest some Chinese models may have been trained using data distilled from US models.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Extracting AI reasoning traces<\/h2><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The research was conducted by computer scientists from the University of T\u00fcbingen, the Max Planck Institute, MATS Research, and the <a href=\"\/category\/cybersecurity\/\">cybersecurity<\/a> company Snyk. They identified a vulnerability in how major AI providers transmit data to users.
