German Design Award: Special Mention for GEZE wireless extension
The German Design Award is all about design quality. The expert jury honored the new GEZE FA GC 170 wireless extension f or hold-open systems with a ‘special mention’ in the ‘Building & elements’ category. This distinction is designed to honor work whose design includes exceptionally successful aspects or solutions.
Fire protection doors need to close securely and automatically when the smoke switch is activated in case of an emergency; hold-open systems make them more accessible. FA GC 170 is a much-welcomed retro-fitting solution that enables ceiling-mounted smoke detectors and manual trigger switches on GEZE hold-open systems to connect wirelessly to the wireless module on the lintel-mounted detector. This makes the door system an optimal solution if structural changes are undesirable or impossible, such as in listed buildings, because they allow the design to remain unchanged.
The German Design Award is one of the most prestigious design competitions globally, and is considered the premium international prize from the German Design Council. Its goal: to discover, show case and honor unique design trends.
“The winning of the prestigious ICONIC Awards 2019 & German Design Award 2019 is yet another achievement to be added to the recent successes made by GEZE in this increasingly demanding market. We are pleased to receive this renowned recognitions and proud to localize it in the MENA market and look forward to continue our disruptive innovations to lead the landscape of the doors, windows and safety systems sector in the region and beyond.” added Charles Constantin.
