LG Electronics has officially announced the global release of the LG xboom Blast, a portable Bluetooth party speaker built for outdoor environments. The unit delivers up to 220W of audio output and carries an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, making it suitable for gatherings at beaches, campsites, and backyards.
Acoustic Architecture and Audio Engineering
The internal speaker system combines two 5.25-inch neodymium woofers with two 20-millimeter tweeters manufactured by Danish audio specialist Peerless. When connected to AC power, the unit provides 220W of sound, while battery operation offers up to 210W of output. In addition, the system incorporates an acoustic tuning profile developed in partnership with musical artist will.i.am.
Listeners can stream tracks wirelessly through standard Bluetooth protocols or connect devices directly via a USB-C port for lossless wired playback. The device integrates with broader smart devices to provide flexible connectivity options during social events.
Battery Performance and Hardware Durability
Power is supplied by a replaceable 99Wh battery pack capable of providing up to 36 hours of continuous audio playback on a single charge. The unit uses proprietary Play Time Enhance technology to optimize power draw during extended listening sessions away from wall outlets.
Hardware reliability is backed by seven military-grade durability certifications alongside the IP68 dust and water ingress protection standard. Protective side bumpers and a reinforced fabric outer shell prevent surface damage during transit between outdoor venues.

To simplify acoustic setup in changing open-air spaces, the speaker incorporates automated artificial intelligence sound processing. The system analyzes incoming audio tracks in real time and adjusts frequency equalization without requiring manual intervention by the listener.
Furthermore, Space Calibration Pro calculates surrounding room or boundary reflections to tune balance, while Sound Field Enhance broadens the audio dispersion angle. Dual ring lighting systems also sync with playback tempos to enhance shared gaming and entertainment atmospheres.

Multi-speaker setups are enabled through integrated Auracast connectivity, allowing users to link multiple compatible audio units without running physical cables.
