The new Adobe Premiere Android application is now available for download on the Google Play Store, bringing desktop-grade video production capabilities to mobile creators. The release comes one year after the software debuted on iOS devices, as reported by Ars Technica.
Adobe Premiere Android Features and Capabilities
The mobile editor allows creators to import multiple video tracks, perform precision trimming, split clips, and apply visual filters. Users can export finished projects in up to 4K resolution at 60 frames per second. In addition, the software includes audio extraction, background noise reduction, and direct voiceover recording tools in the apps ecosystem.
While vertical video formats tailored for YouTube Shorts remain the default configuration, users can switch to standard 16:9 widescreen formats. The system requires a device with at least 5GB of RAM to operate smoothly.
Optimized Interface for Foldable Devices
Adobe created specialized layouts tailored to different device form factors. On standard smartphones, the application splits the display with the video preview on top and the timeline positioned below. On foldable mobile devices, the layout automatically moves the timeline to the right of the video preview window to maximize screen real estate.
Users can adjust the split ratio manually to enlarge either the timeline or the video preview window. Adobe confirmed that the application is also optimized for Googlebook laptop hardware.
Generative AI Integration and Model Options
The Adobe Premiere Android software integrates text-to-video and image-to-video creation engines. Users can access Adobe Firefly alongside third-party models including Google Veo, Google Omni, Luma Ray, and Kling. The application delivers advanced artificial intelligence generation directly to mobile production workflows.
Every user receives 250 monthly generative credits at no extra cost without requiring a Creative Cloud paid subscription. For higher production volumes, an optional plan provides 1,200 monthly credits for $8 per month or $70 annually.
Transition from Premiere Rush and Availability
The launch marks the official replacement for the older Premiere Rush application. Adobe plans to end technical support for Premiere Rush on September 30. The standalone Adobe Premiere Android app is available as a free download for supported hardware worldwide.
