The Saudi Ministry of Media signed a digital modernization agreement at LEAP 2026, marking a new step through the Ministry of Media MoU with hybrid multicloud company Nutanix. The partnership focuses on upgrading the ministry’s digital architecture to support cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and cyber resilience across the Kingdom’s media sector.
Scope of the Ministry of Media MoU
Under the signed agreement, Nutanix will support the ministry in evaluating and establishing hybrid computing environments. These systems will enable internal applications and daily operational workloads to run across local data centers and various third-party cloud environments without technical friction.
In addition, both parties will study the design of digital platforms that adopt emerging technologies. The primary objective centers on improving administrative efficiency and refining the overall experience for media beneficiaries across the country.
Business Continuity and Resilient Infrastructure
A core element of the agreement involves strengthening operational continuity for public sector communications. Nutanix will help build technical environments structured around disaster recovery and cybersecurity protocols to protect digital assets during unexpected outages or network disruptions.
Eng. Ahmed Salem Al-Rashdi, General Supervisor of the General Departments at the Digital Transformation Agency within the Ministry of Media, emphasized the necessity of these technical upgrades for ongoing operations.
Modern media organizations require digital infrastructure that can keep pace with an environment where content, platforms and audience expectations are constantly evolving. Our collaboration with Nutanix will support our efforts to strengthen the flexibility, resilience and modernization of the Ministry’s digital infrastructure, while enabling us to explore new approaches to hybrid cloud and emerging technologies.

Building National Cloud Computing Capabilities
Beyond deploying software, the collaboration prioritizes technical training and structured knowledge transfer. The initiative includes training programs focused on managing modern infrastructure and multi-environment hybrid clouds for Saudi professionals.
Talal Al-Saif, Regional Director for Saudi Arabia at Nutanix, explained the strategic goals behind the cooperative media project in Riyadh.
The future of media is increasingly defined by how quickly organizations can adapt to new technologies, new consumption models and new digital experiences. That requires an infrastructure foundation that is not only powerful, but also flexible, resilient and ready for what comes next.

Future Technical Outlook for Public Media
As media requirements expand across Saudi Arabia, the partnership aims to create scalable systems that easily integrate modern AI applications. Through the established Ministry of Media MoU, technical teams plan to test new data solutions that shorten operational workflows and secure communication channels.
Consequently, the collaborative projects planned under the Ministry of Media MoU reflect Nutanix’s broader engagements with Saudi institutions as public agencies upgrade enterprise software to meet national digitalization targets.
