The CHANGAN NEVO Q05 makes its European debut at the Paris Motor Show
Changan Automobile presented its multi-brand and multi-powertrain vehicle portfolio at Mondial de l’Auto 2026 under the theme Firmly Rooted, Growing Together. The Chinese automaker highlighted its global technology roadmap alongside specific expansion initiatives directed at the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region.
During the event, the company hosted the European debut of the CHANGAN NEVO Q05 alongside the world premiere of the AVATR CONCEPT T09. These introductions reflect the group’s ongoing research programs across three primary vehicle brands: CHANGAN NEVO, CHANGAN DEEPAL, and AVATR. Regional leadership confirmed that international technical resources will directly support product rollouts across Middle Eastern markets.
Expansion Strategy of Changan Automobile
The company outlined its Vast Ocean Plan 2.0 and 2030 Global Strategy under a structured framework. Specifically, the automaker targets 1.5 million overseas vehicle sales annually by 2030, aiming for a position among the top ten vehicle manufacturers worldwide. The MEA territory represents one of five priority zones within this commercial roadmap.
Changan entered the MEA market in 1994 and has accumulated more than 500,000 vehicle deliveries across regional territories. Today, its dealer footprint spans over 40 countries, covering key Gulf markets including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, alongside North African destinations such as Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia, and South Africa. These regional initiatives align with wider shifts in the automotive industry toward localized distribution networks.

“Demand for high-quality, intelligent vehicles is growing rapidly across the MEA market. Changan will continue to deepen its localisation strategy and initiatives, refine its regional product and service portfolio, and honour its long-term commitment to serving customers.”
Mr. Xiao, General Manager of Changan Automobile Middle East and Africa Business Unit
BlueCore Hybrid Technology Integration
On the engineering front, the manufacturer detailed its BlueCore Ultra Hybrid powertrain architecture. This modular setup incorporates hybrid electric (HEV), plug-in hybrid (PHEV), and range-extended electric vehicle (REEV) configurations. As a result, drivers obtain low operating expenses and quiet mechanical operation across changing environments.
The hybrid setup will serve as the technical foundation for upcoming releases in the Middle East. Most notably, the all-new UNI-S HEV and EADO PLUS HEV will arrive in showrooms during the fourth quarter of 2026. Future models will adopt the same underlying system to address local climate conditions and consumer driving habits.

Regional Vehicle Line-up Deployment
Changan plans to release several dedicated models to strengthen market coverage across varied consumer segments. The rollout includes the CHANGAN NEVO Q05, NEVO Q06, and NEVO A06, alongside the DEEPAL S07 PHEV and S05 PHEV. Each model will undergo targeted adaptations to match local road conditions and seasonal temperatures in regional territories.
Meanwhile, the company continues expanding commercial channels to assist enterprise operations and private owners. Technical adjustments ensure localized durability without compromising factory specifications. Relevant regional developments also connect directly with shifts in the broader economy across Gulf countries.
Long-Term Outlook Across MEA Markets
The manufacturer currently operates across 149 countries and territories globally, including its home market in China. Moving forward, technical centers plan to align global engineering discoveries with distinct market needs in the Middle East. Through ongoing partner collaborations, Changan Automobile plans to continue its transition from traditional vehicle export sales to regionalized operations.
