mk01, Hyundai Motor Achieves Record Brand Valuation of $25 Billion in 2026 Interbrand Rankings
The global Hyundai brand value reached 25 billion dollars in 2026, advancing the company to 29th place overall in Interbrand’s annual ranking. This evaluation marks the 17th consecutive year of valuation growth for the South Korean automaker. The company also moved up two places to fourth position among automotive brands worldwide.
Expansion in Electrified Mobility and Vehicle Awards
Several product awards contributed to the company’s performance across international markets. The all-new Palisade won the 2026 North American Utility Vehicle of the Year award in January 2026. Furthermore, the IONIQ 9 electric SUV received the World’s Best Large SUV title at the 2026 Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year Awards, alongside top safety marks from IIHS and Euro NCAP.
Electrified models continued to expand the automaker’s global footprint in the automotive sector. During 2025, the company sold 961,812 electrified vehicles globally, representing a 27 percent increase year-over-year. In the first quarter of 2026, electrified deliveries rose 14.2 percent to 242,612 units, accounting for 24.9 percent of total global vehicle sales.
Physical AI and Robotics Development
The group expanded operations in robotics and physical AI through dedicated development programs. Hyundai Motor Group demonstrated Atlas robot training at its Robotics Metaplant Application Center in September 2026, preparing for deployment at its American manufacturing metaplant starting in 2028. The Atlas robot also earned the Best Robot award in CNET Group’s Best of CES 2026.
Collaborative technology projects helped support industrial manufacturing methods. Specifically, the automaker maintained its partnership with NVIDIA to advance manufacturing systems at facilities including the Saemangeum data center. Meanwhile, affiliate Motional began an IONIQ 5 robotaxi pilot service in Las Vegas in March 2026 to support Level 4 autonomous driving validation.
Factors Driving Hyundai Brand Value Growth
Strategic shifts in vehicle software also influenced how evaluators calculated the latest Hyundai brand value metrics. The group introduced its Pleos software brand in early 2025 and deployed Pleos Connect on The New Grandeur in Korea in May 2026. The automaker intends to integrate Pleos Connect into roughly 20 million production vehicles by 2030.
“Seventeen consecutive years of brand value growth comes from customers who chose Hyundai and from the teams and dealer partners who earned that trust. Improving to fourth among automotive brands reflects both the strength of our products today and the technologies we are building for what comes next, software-defined vehicles and physical AI.”
José Muñoz, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Company
Global visibility expanded further through major sports sponsorships that influenced the overall economy of international marketing. The manufacturer supplied vehicles for the FIFA World Cup 2026 under a partnership active since 1999. In addition, the brand renewed agreements with the International Cricket Council in December 2025 and sponsored South America’s CONMEBOL Libertadores tournament.
Evaluation Methodology and Corporate Outlook
Interbrand assesses global companies based on financial analysis, the role of brand in purchasing decisions, and long-term brand strength. These measures helped sustain the Hyundai brand value throughout continuous technological changes across transportation sectors.
“This year, Hyundai unveiled its AI robotics strategy, extending the brand into physical AI. By proving tangible competitiveness in robotics and electrification, it strengthened brand distinctiveness and trust, a key driver of brand value growth.”
Jihun Moon, Global Managing Partner of Interbrand Group
