LG AI Home solutions were showcased at LG InnoFest 2026 Middle East and Africa in Abu Dhabi on February 16, 2026. The company transformed a hotel suite into a demonstration space featuring connected appliances, devices, and sensors that operate autonomously while enabling voice-based control.
The exhibition brought together business partners and media to experience the company’s approach to smart home technology. The demonstration suite included integrated systems for energy management, home security, and daily task automation configured for regional requirements.
ThinQ ON Hub Enables Conversational Control
The LG ThinQ ON hub uses generative AI to process natural language commands and respond contextually. The system can suggest clothing based on weather forecasts, review daily schedules, and answer questions about air quality using real-time data. Users control laundry cycles, set reminders, and manage timers through voice interaction.
The hub adjusts indoor temperature based on user preferences and environmental context. It interprets conversational input to deliver personalized responses without requiring specific command phrases.
IoT Sensors Automate Home Functions
IoT sensors installed throughout the demonstration space detect environmental changes and communicate with appliances to optimize conditions. The system recognizes individual users and applies personalized settings automatically across connected devices.
When occupants leave, the LG AI Home turns off lights and appliances to reduce power consumption and activates cleaning functions including robot vacuum operation. Upon return, the system displays a welcome message and activates selected appliances.
ThinQ Platform Expands Service Capabilities
The LG ThinQ platform provides ThinQ Care, which delivers voice notifications about appliance status to help users address potential issues early. The platform supports meal preparation by allowing users to select recipes from the ThinQ app and send settings directly to connected ovens.
Built on the Homey Pro platform, the ecosystem enables users to connect and manage devices from multiple manufacturers. The demonstration included integrated control of lighting, curtains, and switches from various brands alongside LG appliances.
Regional Expansion Plans for B2B Market
LG plans to strengthen its smart home package business in the Middle East by combining appliances with AI and IoT technologies. The company targets the region’s B2B market, including apartments and hotels, with optimized space solutions.
“LG AI Home is a total smart living solution that leverages our sophisticated AI to meaningfully enhance customers’ everyday lives. We aim to reinforce our market leadership in both the Middle East and Africa by providing smart home experiences optimized for local conditions and lifestyles.”
Phil Jung, Region Representative, LG Middle East and Africa
The company stated it will accelerate expansion of its smart home and smart building businesses across the region through this strategy.
