The updated LG Gallery+ service now delivers 100 curated artworks from The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York directly to connected living rooms. Announced in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the partnership expands digital access to cultural heritage through television displays.

Masterpieces Available on LG Gallery+

Through the digital catalogue, viewers can display works representing 5,000 years of global art history. Selected pieces include Paul Cezanne’s 1890 painting Still Life with Apples and a Pot of Primroses, Utagawa Hiroshige’s 1849 woodblock print Seki, and Winslow Homer’s 1895 canvas Northeaster.

Additionally, the selection features William Merritt Chase’s 1892 painting At the Seaside alongside Edouard Manet’s 1874 work The Monet Family in Their Garden at Argenteuil. The items originate from across 19 curatorial departments at The Met, including Asian Art and European Paintings.

Hardware Features of the Art TV Lineup

To support art viewing, LG offers dedicated Art TV models equipped with Hyper Radiant Color Technology, Perfect Black, and Reflection Free Premium filters. Consequently, the screens maintain clear visibility and color balance across varying indoor lighting environments.

The dedicated lineup includes the LG OLED evo W6 Wallpaper TV, built for low visual distraction. Meanwhile, the LG OLED evo G6 provides a flush-fit design, and the LG Gallery TV includes interchangeable magnetic frames for a traditional frame appearance.

Integration with the webOS Platform

Operating on the proprietary webOS smart TV platform, the software connects users to a broader archive exceeding 5,000 digital art pieces. This extensive collection combines classic pieces by Vincent van Gogh and Claude Monet with contemporary digital works.

“Through the Gallery+ platform, users are invited to select their favorite Met artworks to display on rotation, creating thematic presentations that reflect their personal style, mood, and love of art.”

Josh Romm, Head of Global Licensing and Partnerships at The Met

Furthermore, new Art TV buyers receive a three-month trial of the premium tier. Beyond fine art, the platform supports streaming entertainment through LG Channels and connected gaming options.

Executive Perspectives and Museum Access

Museum officials noted that digital initiatives help distribute physical collections to international audiences. Chris Jo, head of the webOS Platform Business Center at LG Media Entertainment Solution Company, stated that the arrangement enables households worldwide to interact directly with historical cultural assets.

“LG is proud to offer a new opportunity for people to connect with stories of art, culture, and history, and inspire the creativity and curiosity of our users.”
