Details of the New Route
Thai AirAsia X announced the launch of its first-ever direct flights between Riyadh (RUH), Saudi Arabia, and Bangkok (DMK), Thailand, starting 2 December 2025. The airline will operate four weekly flights every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, strengthening AirAsia’s strategy to expand into the Middle East.

H.E. Mr. Darm Boontham congratulated Thai AirAsia X, noting that the new route “marks a new era of connectivity” and will enhance trade, investment, and cultural exchange.
Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT)
Mr. Ahman Mad-Adam, Director of TAT Dubai, said the Riyadh–Bangkok route will “strengthen tourism and people-to-people ties,” making travel seamless and supporting Thailand’s medical and halal tourism offerings.

For Saudi travelers, Bangkok provides easy access to popular destinations such as Phuket, Chiang Mai, and Krabi. Thailand is also a global hub for medical tourism and offers halal-friendly services, making it attractive for family and leisure trips.

Flight Duration and Visa Facilities
The new direct route reduces travel time to 7.5 hours, making it more convenient for both business and leisure. Saudi nationals benefit from Thailand’s e-visa and visa-on-arrival facilities, simplifying entry procedures.
Low-Cost Model with Premium Options
Thai AirAsia X follows a low-cost model where guests “pay for what they need.” Travelers can purchase:

Flights will be operated by the Airbus A330 widebody, with:
