Riyadh – September 15, 2025

The Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) has signed an agreement with Ant International to enable Alipay+ payment acceptance in the Kingdom through the national payment network mada, starting in 2026.

The agreement was announced during Money20/20 Middle East, held at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center in Mulham, with the participation of financial and technology leaders.

This move is part of SAMA’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the Kingdom’s digital payments ecosystem in line with the objectives of the Financial Sector Development Program, a key pillar of Saudi Vision 2030.

The partnership will allow visitors to Saudi Arabia and users of global digital wallets connected to the Alipay+ network to make secure and seamless purchases at merchants supporting the service.

By adopting Alipay+ acceptance, the Kingdom continues to cement its position as a global leader in fintech innovation and payment digitization, offering advanced infrastructure that drives the shift toward a less cash-reliant society.
