Apple MacBook Pro With Proled XDR Display Family Lineup
Apple introduced the updated MacBook Pro featuring a tandem OLED screen, touch capabilities, and M5 family processors. The release includes 14-inch and 16-inch sizes built with thinner aluminum enclosures that decrease overall weight. Both models offer up to 24 hours of battery run time, three Thunderbolt 5 ports, and updated internal audio hardware.
Hardware Design and Weight Reductions
The physical chassis measures thinner than preceding models through a revised display assembly. Specifically, the 14-inch unit weighs 3 pounds, which marks a half-pound decrease. The 16-inch version weighs 4 pounds, showing a reduction of 0.7 pounds. Internal cooling systems were restructured to guide warm air away from screen layers while maintaining processor speeds.
Display Specifications and Touch Input
Branded as PROLED XDR, the display achieves 2000 nits peak brightness for both HDR and standard content alongside a 10,000,000:1 contrast ratio. The panel covers the P3 and Adobe RGB color spaces for professional image grading. Furthermore, touch sensors built directly into the glass enable direct finger input for creative software without requiring a separate digitizer layer.
“PROLED XDR is the world’s best laptop display. It pairs state-of-the-art tandem OLED technology with advanced algorithms in our display engine to deliver the kind of visual fidelity pros have been dreaming of.”

Silicon Architecture and Internal Specifications
Processing configurations utilize M5 Pro or M5 Max system chips. These components support up to 128GB of unified memory and internal SSD storage options up to 16TB. Graphics processing units feature revised shader cores, hardware ray tracing, and dedicated accelerators aimed at local artificial intelligence models. Software optimizations in macOS 27 assist third-party productivity apps from vendors like Microsoft.
Connectivity and Audio Hardware
External connectivity across the MacBook Pro lineup centers on three built-in Thunderbolt 5 ports that support high-speed peripheral connections. The machines also integrate updated internal audio hardware designed to enhance sound output and multimedia recording tasks. Combined with architectural efficiency gains, both size configurations deliver up to 24 hours of battery operational life away from a power outlet.
Pricing and Availability of the MacBook Pro
Pre-orders opened on October 28 across 30 regional markets, with retail deliveries starting on November 9. In Saudi Arabia, the 14-inch model with M5 Pro starts at SAR 13,999, while the 16-inch counterpart starts at SAR 15,999.
