The Arab Satellite Communications Organization (ARABSAT) and Es’hailSat have formed a strategic alliance to advance satellite broadcasting across the Middle East and North Africa. The two operators signed the agreement during the Arab Radio and Television Festival held in Hammamet, Tunisia. Both entities will combine resources to strengthen distribution networks and broadcast services.
Expansion of Satellite Broadcasting Hub
A primary objective of the partnership is to reinforce the 26° East orbital location as an established transmission point. The operators plan to add new television channels and introduce a wider variety of regional media programming. Consequently, this expansion supports commercial media growth across regional markets, complementing developments in the wider economy.
Furthermore, both organisations will work on the Unified Arab Bouquet. This joint distribution initiative uses international orbital coverage to transmit Arab channels to global viewers outside the primary Middle East and North Africa footprint.
Communications and Connectivity Solutions
Beyond television transmission, the agreement broadens operational cooperation in commercial telecommunications. Both companies will coordinate on VSAT services and secure satellite connectivity networks. Specifically, technical teams will assess modern transmission systems to improve service reliability and operational efficiency for enterprise customers.
The joint technical evaluation will focus on infrastructure upgrades. As a result, commercial clients will gain access to direct data links that support critical communications across remote industrial sites and maritime operations.
Executive Statements on the Agreement
Executive leadership highlighted the operational value of pooling fleet resources and technical infrastructure across both regional firms.
“This agreement aims to strengthen strategic partnerships and integration with Es’hailSat, contributing to the development of the broadcasting and satellite communications ecosystem in the region. Through this cooperation, we look forward to reinforcing the 26° East orbital location and expanding areas of cooperation in broadcasting, communications, and satellite connectivity solutions.”
Dr. Badr N. Alsuwaidan, CEO of ARABSAT
Leadership from Es’hailSat also confirmed the joint commitment to operational coordination and regional content distribution.
“This agreement represents an important step toward cross-sector collaboration between ARABSAT and Es’hailSat and leveraging the capabilities and expertise of both parties in satellite, connectivity and broadcast services.”
Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, President and CEO of Es’hailSat
Long-Term Technical Cooperation
The operators noted that the agreement establishes a long-term commercial framework. Both firms intend to develop joint offerings addressing changing requirements in the space industry and corporate connectivity sectors. Meanwhile, technical integration enables both operators to deliver resilient satellite broadcasting solutions to international broadcast networks.
