Who is Saudi ICT Shopper News?

Saudi ICT Shopper News is an independent technology and telecom publication covering the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the wider region in English and Arabic. We have been publishing since 1998 and operate from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Our coverage focuses on telecommunications, IT, cloud, AI, cybersecurity, consumer electronics, gaming, and Saudi Vision 2030 digital initiatives.

What languages do you publish in?

English at saudishopper.com.sa/en/ and Arabic at saudishopper.com.sa/ar/. Most articles are published in both languages on the same day.

Are you owned by the government, a telecom operator, or an advertiser?

No. We are independently owned and operated. Advertising and editorial functions are organizationally separate, and we do not coordinate editorial coverage with any commercial or governmental party. See our Editorial Standards Section 8.

How we work

Are your articles written by AI?

Articles are drafted with AI assistance and reviewed by a human editor before publication. AI does not decide what we cover, what is true, or what gets published — those are human decisions. Full detail: AI Use Disclosure.

Which AI models do you use?

We use Claude (Anthropic), Gemini (Google), GPT (OpenAI), GLM (Z.AI), Grok (xAI), and DeepSeek, chosen per task. The model used for any given article is logged internally and can be disclosed on request.

How do you fact-check?

For every consequential claim we cross-check names, numbers, dates, and quotes against the original source; verify external links; and have a second editor review. For financial, regulatory, or technical specifications, we verify against the underlying document. Anonymous sources are corroborated by a second source where possible. See Editorial Standards Section 3.

What if you get something wrong?

Email [email protected] with the article URL, the specific text you believe is incorrect, the correct information, and a supporting source. We acknowledge within 2 business days. Our full process is in Corrections Policy.

Press releases and submissions

How do I submit a press release?

Send your release to [email protected] with the original text (English, Arabic, or both), any attached images (JPEG / PNG / WebP, under 50 MB total), and a contact for follow-up. Industry briefings, embargoes, and exclusive announcements are welcome — note the embargo in the subject line.

Will you publish my press release verbatim?

Not usually. Press releases are starting points, not finished articles. We rewrite into our own voice, add context and prior reporting, and verify key facts. Wholly press-release-derived articles are labeled “Industry News” or “Press release”. See Editorial Standards Section 2.3.

How long does publication take?

Depending on news value and queue, articles typically publish within 2 business days of submission. Time-sensitive announcements should be flagged in the subject line as “URGENT” with the embargo time.

Do you charge for publishing press releases?

Standard editorial coverage is free. Sponsored content and paid editorial are available separately and labeled clearly. For rate-card details email [email protected].

Can I see the article before it publishes?

We do not offer pre-publication review to subjects of coverage. If a story contains critical reporting about a person or organization, we contact them for comment before publication where reasonably possible (right of reply). Pre-publication review is provided only for paid editorial under contract.

Advertising and partnerships

Do you accept advertising?

Yes. We offer banner placements, sponsored articles, paid editorial, social-channel amplification, and event partnerships. All paid placements are clearly labeled. Contact [email protected] for the rate card.

Do you accept gifts, trips, or product loans?

We follow industry-standard rules: editorial staff disclose any gifts, hosted travel, or product loans valued above a nominal threshold. Editorial coverage is not contingent on receiving any of the above. See Editorial Standards Section 4.

Republishing and licensing

Can I republish your article on my site?

Not in full. You may quote short excerpts under fair-use principles with attribution and a link back. For full republishing, email [email protected].

Can I translate your articles?

Translation requires permission. Email [email protected] with the article URL and the intended distribution channel.

Can your content be used to train AI models?

No, not without prior written permission. We disallow known AI crawlers in robots.txt and set X-Robots-Tag: noai, noimageai where appropriate. Commercial licensing requests for AI training: [email protected]. See Terms of Use Section 8 and AI Use Disclosure Section 6.

Privacy and data

What data do you collect about me when I read the site?

Standard web-server logs (IP, browser, referer) and — if you consent — Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymization. We do not run advertising trackers. Embeds from X and YouTube are blocked by default until you consent. Full detail: Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

How do I change my cookie choices?

Click “Cookie Settings” in the footer to re-open the consent banner.

How do I exercise my data-protection rights?

Email [email protected] with the subject “Data Request”. We respond within 30 days. Rights covered include access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and consent withdrawal under PDPL and GDPR.

Is the site accessible?

We aim for WCAG 2.1 AA conformance. If you encounter an accessibility issue, email [email protected] with the article URL and a description and we will address it.

Why does the same article have a different URL in English and Arabic?

Each language has its own URL under /en/ or /ar/ and they cross-link via <link rel="alternate" hreflang="..."> tags so search engines understand they are translations of the same story.

I can’t see a tweet or YouTube video on an article — why?

Embeds from X and YouTube are blocked by default for privacy. Click “Load content” on the placeholder card to load the specific embed, or accept analytics cookies via the consent banner to unlock embeds globally. See Cookie Policy Section 2.4.
