LG Electronics has officially introduced six integrated Genesis GV90 solutions to support the upcoming full-size electric flagship SUV from Genesis. The newly revealed suite covers digital cockpit displays, integrated infotainment, content streaming platforms, rear-seat entertainment, central vehicle controls, and advanced telematics modules.

The suite marks the commercial debut of several automotive technologies designed by the South Korean technology firm. Specifically, the vehicle integrates a 24.6-inch variable popup central information display that physically adjusts its height depending on whether the vehicle is parked or in motion. During standard driving conditions, the screen retains a lower physical profile showing 23.6 inches of display area for navigation, instrument gauges, and core driving metrics. When stationary, the screen moves upward by 90 millimeters to expose its full 24.6-inch active panel for media consumption.

Integrated Infotainment and Software Architecture

Underneath the adaptive display hardware, LG deployed an integrated infotainment setup running inside Hyundai Motor Group’s Pleos Connect architecture. This central software environment links the driver instrument cluster, the head-up display, and the primary audio, video, and navigation system into a single operating environment. Furthermore, the platform integrates the Gleo AI voice assistant to process passenger voice requests, while using dedicated interfaces tailored to the motorized display panel.

Occupants can access diverse digital media through the LG Automotive Content Platform, also known as LG ACP. The system provides access to streaming applications, including Netflix, Disney+, YouTube, and LG Channels, alongside TVING, Baby Shark World for Kids, and Haystack News. LG confirmed that upcoming platform updates will add Zoom video conferencing, Rakuten TV, and HappyKids based on specific regional launch schedules across global markets.

Rear Cabin Technologies and Touch Control

Second-row passengers receive dedicated hardware through LG’s connected car Rear Cockpit system. This setup features a 13.2-inch OLED touchscreen mounted for rear passengers, delivering high-resolution visuals and independent streaming access via the onboard content platform.

In addition, an eight-inch console touch screen allows passengers to control cabin settings directly. The touch interface manages heating, ventilation, air conditioning, seating adjustments, lighting, door controls, audio playback, and seat massage settings. The console display also provides haptic tactile feedback and receives software enhancements through regular wireless updates.

Functional Safety and Genesis GV90 solutions

To support high-speed vehicle communications, LG installed its Central Communication Unit 2.0 within the vehicle electronics framework. This module manages data exchanges between the core electronic control units across the vehicle and handles wireless interactions with external cellular networks. Notably, the hardware supports over-the-air firmware updates and secure remote management commands.

Independent certification body TÜV Rheinland certified the Central Communication Unit 2.0 under the international ISO 26262 automotive functional safety standard. The component achieved compliance with Automotive Safety Integrity Level D, the highest classification available under the standard. As a result, the Genesis GV90 solutions satisfy strict safety requirements for connected vehicle computing.

“By combining our capabilities in display, infotainment, content platform and vehicle control technologies, we are helping provide more seamless and intuitive experiences for drivers and passengers.”
