The Madinah AI camp officially commenced operations at the headquarters of the AlMadinah AlMunawarah Chamber, gathering 120 participants to build practical technical solutions. Organized in strategic partnership with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the five-day hands-on program runs from October 4 to October 8 as part of the MED AI Forum, according to SPA (English). The initiative provides an intensive development environment connecting emerging local talent with specialized domain experts.
Structure and Daily Schedule of the Madinah AI Camp
The initiative features nine specialized speakers who guide attendees through structured development phases. Sessions run daily between 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., providing direct mentorship and technical instruction. Throughout these intensive evening workshops, participants learn to analyze real-world challenges, conceptualize potential technical interventions, and translate theoretical ideas into functional software prototypes. This structured workflow is designed to accelerate problem-solving skills and enhance practical coding and systems design capabilities.
Three Specialized Sector Tracks
To target specific economic sectors, the program divides technical challenges across three distinct tracks:
- Sports track for physical performance and event data analytics.
- Agriculture track focusing on cultivation monitoring and resource management.
- Tourism track designed to support visitor services and local heritage sites.
Consequently, teams focus on sector-specific problem statements, allowing them to test algorithms and software architecture on realistic industry cases before final evaluation. These targeted areas reflect critical priorities for regional economic activity and technological modernization.
Preparation for the Hackathon and Business Viability
In addition to technical design, the training prepares attendees directly for an upcoming hackathon. Teams receive guidance on developing viable business models around their software prototypes. As a result, attendees learn how to transform technical concepts into commercially feasible digital products. Mentors work alongside teams to refine their value propositions, system architectures, and practical implementation roadmaps.
Supporting National Digital Goals and Saudi Vision 2030
The organizing chamber stated that the workshop supports broader efforts to build digital skills across Saudi Arabia. Moreover, hosting the Madinah AI camp helps expand the practical use of artificial intelligence within vital sectors, aligning with the strategic objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and advancing the digital economy. By empowering developers, designers, and tech entrepreneurs, the program fosters a sustainable ecosystem for technical innovation in the region.
